The Battered Women's Ballad

Using the study of domestic abuse in Angela Browne's, When Battered Women Kill, this play is the reenactment of a trial of a woman who plotted too and then succeeded in killing her husband. At the end of the play the audience is asked to act as jury and reach a verdict.

The entirety of the show is non-verbal and unravels alongside Lingua Ignota's album of murder ballads, Caligula. I hand crafted knit masks and then plastic masks to go on top of those, ruled out all physical touch, and covered my entire attic in plastic to remove specificity and embrace a scientific investigation.
